Sleep Apnea

Snoring can be more than just an annoying sound to others, but can be a sign of Sleep Apnea. Sleep Apnea is a rising area of concern when considering the wide range of health issues related to the condition.

We as dentists, consider ourselves a first line of defense against Sleep Apnea by being able to recognize individuals with the potential for having the condition above and beyond just snoring. As a dentist, seeing our patients on a more frequent basis than most physicians, our personalized, close relationship with our patients and the fact we have access to the oral anatomy that affects sleep breathing, all allows us the opportunity to be able to see the possible signs of Sleep Apnea.

We then connect you with the proper sleep specialists to diagnose, test and treat you if it is determined you actually have Sleep Apnea. In the case where a dental device is an option for treatment, as a trained dentist in Sleep Apnea treatment, I will provide you with a dental sleep device and help you and your specialist monitor its progress.
